Well, not yet, but tomorrow morning is the day! So here I sit, it’s after ten pm and I’m just hoping I have everything packed.

I’m thrilled to announce that my newest book, “BrokenJaw” is actually finished and will be released on Chincoteague Island next week. Not quite sure how I actually got it done, but it’s done! THANK YOU to everyone who helped! Becky Foster, I’m lookin’ at you!

I have to say that we are really looking forward to visiting the beautiful island of Chincoteague once again, catching up with dear friends and meeting new ones! David and I will be bringing a new bundle of joy this year. Joyce was born 7 months ago and is thrilled to see the ponies with big sister Grace.

I will be signing books for 5  days and I hope to see you all there.

-Jess

The makings of a book….. http://jessieannfriend.com/blog/2010/11/01/the-makings-of-a-book/ http://jessieannfriend.com/blog/2010/11/01/the-makings-of-a-book/#comments Mon, 01 Nov 2010 03:34:33 +0000 Administrator http://jessieannfriend.com/blog/?p=22 I’ve noticed lately how certain things find you, right when you need them to.

I may be going about my week, not thinking about the latest book I should be working on, when all of a sudden a certain something happens that makes the story come alive in my mind!

The other day I sat down to read a magazine on health, when I opened the pages a moth flew up, fluttered near my face for a moment and then flew upwards out of sight. It was crazy, it was mysterious, it was PERFECT for my newest adventure book. Funny, huh?

This has been happening to me more and more lately. Sometimes it is just coincidence, but certain times I know it is more than coincidence,….some may call it the cosmics colliding, others intuition, I for one call it an intervention by the Almighty.

Anyways, just my two sense….

Wow-What a week! http://jessieannfriend.com/blog/2010/08/04/wow-what-a-week/ http://jessieannfriend.com/blog/2010/08/04/wow-what-a-week/#comments Wed, 04 Aug 2010 00:57:03 +0000 Administrator http://jessieannfriend.com/blog/?p=17 I’m sitting here at my computer in California, completely tired yet exhilarated from our week in Chincoteague.

We sold out of books halfway through the week, had an amazing time meeting up with old friends and meeting new faces…and of course spending time with Rainy’s Boy, star of the book, is always a rare treat.

I can honestly say that for me the blessing of writing is 2-fold:

1. Sometimes there seems to be so much going on in my head, to be able to piece the words and visuals together feels amazing, almost relieving! Anyone relate? ***As a side note, blogging feels different than creating a book…I always like to write my stories in longhand first, then type out the final drafts.

2. The best part BY FAR is interacting with the readers. My goodness, it is humbling to hear the stories and memories that readers young and old will share with me at the book signing table. I was moved to tears more than once on this trip.  I will blog about some of those events later….

Anyway, thanks for taking a moment to check out my ramblings…Oh hey, and if you haven’t thought about it before, consider Chincoteague on your next east coast vacation!!!

Good Morning Chincoteague http://jessieannfriend.com/blog/2010/07/30/good-morning-chincoteague/ http://jessieannfriend.com/blog/2010/07/30/good-morning-chincoteague/#comments Fri, 30 Jul 2010 08:11:15 +0000 Administrator http://phillycoolrob.com/wordpress_281/?page_id=2 Wild Ponies at the Carnival groundsGood morning! I am here in the Island Library on Chincoteague wrapping up a wonderful Pony Penning week. It was great to meet so many amazing people who came out to see me at Sundial Books and Ms. Helen’s.

It’s going to be sad to leave the Island but I look forward to hearing from the familiar faces I met here this year & the years before or even a first time visitor…
